We send orders throughout most of South Africa using a select reputable courier – the courier charge is an additional R80 per order for Local deliveries (within Cape Town and surrounds), and R120 for National deliveries. Special trips to Outlying Areas are charged at R300. Delivery of an order for a cart of items exceeding R1500 is free – please select the Free Shipping option which becomes available during checkout. Free Shipping is unfortunately not available to Outlying Areas.

Once an order is despatched it is within the courier service and outside of our control – we cannot be held liable for delays or items lost or damaged during delivery (but will work along with the courier company to resolve the situation).

Local customers have the option to avoid shipping charges by collecting their order directly from our Studio in Hout Bay – please select the Local Collection option which becomes available during checkout.

Due to the handmade nature of our product slight variations will occur. Each semi-precious stone is unique in colour, size and shape.

Customer satisfaction is very important to us. If you receive an item that you are unhappy with, you may contact us within 7 days of receiving it to arrange a return, and an associated exchange or refund – provided the original item is unworn and undamaged, and still in its original state and packaging. 

We shall have no obligation to exchange or refund any item announced after the 7 day return period.

The customer will be liable for the return courier charge, and then be credited the value of the return item – the exchange item will be processed as a new order, with the standard courier charge and delivery times being applicable. Refunds will be according to the value of the return item only, and does not include the original delivery fee.

Custom items may not be returned for an associated exchange or refund.

As per international standards we prefer not to allow returns on earrings (for hygienic reasons).

All Spirit Jewellery pieces are made from quality materials. However, care should be taken not to subject the items to excessive force when putting on, wearing, or removing (including catching the item on clothing). Always make sure that your jewellery is securely fastened in place when putting on. A good practice is to regularly inspect your jewellery for signs of wear that could result in it coming loose. It is recommended that you remove your jewellery before exercising, showering, swimming, bathing, sleeping etc to prolong its longevity.

All sterling silver will naturally oxidise (tarnish) over time, but it will dull or blacken much faster when it comes into contact with agents such as sulphur, skin creams and body lotions, perfume, hairspray, chlorine, salty air and moisture, and an acidic skin pH. The amount of tarnish that occurs is dependent on the care habits and skin type of the wearer. It is recommended that you store your jewellery in an airtight container or ziplock bag, ideally together with an anti-tarnish paper strip/tab. Tarnishing is not a manufacturing fault, and can be cleaned using hot water, soap and a soft cloth/old toothbrush to lightly rub/scrub the surface to restore the shine. Rinse in clean hot water, and dry using a soft cloth. There are also many commercial silver jewellery cleaning cloths and dips available, as well as various home remedies, to keep your jewellery looking its best.

Plating: Sterling silver items plated in rose and yellow gold will eventually lose their original colour as the plated surface wears thinner. These items can, however, be re-plated to their original lustre at a nominal charge depending on the size of the item (excludes return and delivery fees).

Spirit Jewellery is made to be beautiful and functional – its fine and delicate nature does, however, require the appropriate care when wearing and storing it. We will repair any Spirit Jewellery item for free within 3 months of purchasing (proof of purchase required), provided this is deemed by the designer to be due to a manufacturing fault.
This warranty unfortunately does not cover sterling silver chains – these will be charged for accordingly. Customers will be liable for the return and delivery fees associated with repairs. Items requiring repair after 3 months of purchasing will be charged for accordingly.

Please note that our warranty does not cover the replacement of stones that have fallen out of a ring for whatever reason during the warranty. We strongly advise customers to inspect their jewellery regularly and seek professional maintenace if necessary to prevent any potential loss or damage.

The electronic Gift Card, with unique number and personal message, is emailed to the recipient allowing them to redeem the amount within the online shop, and choose that special something for themselves.

Please note that gift cards purchased online are only available to be redeemed on our online store. Should you wish to use an online gift card in store, please contact our studio to make prior arrangements.

We welcome our overseas customers. International orders are, however, difficult to manage within the online shop given the potential for significant variation in shipping costs around the world, together with ad hoc taxes depending on the destination. We regret that items to the minimum value of R1500 is required to substantiate an International order.

Our online shop does not accept international billing details – please contact us directly at info@spiritjewellery.co.za to set up a customised order invoice, and obtain our PayPal account details. Please note, there is an additional 5% PayPal fee on your order total, due to the associated foreign exchange/international transfer fees.
